You are Loved

Do you know that? Do you know that you are loved?

We have been talking about Christ’s love on Sunday mornings. Our focus here at Barnitz and Mt. Zion is to Connect People to Christ’s Love. We think it is a rather big deal. We want everyone to know they are loved. It is pretty clear in John 3:16:

God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him won’t perish but will have eternal life.

God loves you.

Do you wonder why? Do you wonder how can He love you? He knows what I have done, and He knows how I think. Why would He love me?

And yet, He does. He loves you.

My guess is you have not gone around persecuting Christians, putting them in prison or standing at their feet as they are killed. Do you know who did? Paul. Paul did those things, and yet, Paul is the one who writes this:

6 While we were still weak, at the right moment, Christ died for ungodly people. 7 It isn’t often that someone will die for a righteous person, though maybe someone might dare to die for a good person. 8 But God shows his love for us, because while we were still sinners Christ died for us. (Romans 5:6-8)

God loves you…because. God loves you because He is God. It is not about what you have done or not done.

You are loved.

I started to think about what we focus on here, Connecting People to Christ’s Love. Sure, we continue to do this more and more, and I am so very excited to see how we continue to live this out over the next couple of years.

There is more to it though. Not only are we seeking to Connect People to Christ’s Love…we are in community to love like Christ.

Consider joining us on a Sunday morning, coming out to one of our events, serving with us or joining one of our small groups. Why? You are loved, and we would love for you to be part of our community to love like Christ.

Blessings,
Pastor Matt
